We design without the fluff. No bloated decks or endless intro slides - just sharp, fast concepts. That’s how we work quickly and stay more affordable than your average design studio. Need a design sprint? No problem. Our rate is a transparent 100 euros/hour, and with our experience, most design explorations are done within a week. In uncertain economic times, it’s good to know your money goes directly into the design - not overhead.
Who we are
Mathieu Pung is a French-American designer who studied engineering and sculpture at Dartmouth College followed by earning a master’s in product design at Art Center College of Design. He has enjoyed a career marrying art and design, from creating sculptures with Claes Oldenburg and Jeff Koons to designing consumer electronics at several design studios in Los Angeles. He was an instructor in product design at Art Center College before moving to Amsterdam to become a lead designer at the renowned Marcel Wanders studio.
He now is living his dream in the countryside of Bretagne, France where he has been designing a diverse range of products, from electronics for Seagate, packaging for Dirty Labs, to ceramic collections for Henriot-Quimper.
Phase1-0 is his design studio, built on the belief that the best ideas often start out sounding a little crazy. What begins as a bold concept in the initial phase can become reality - with enough vision and grit. Just like building a baseball field in his own backyard!
